Crossing Borders, Changing Lives

By: Center for Latin American StudiesLatin American Studies needs your support to provide a transformative excursion to Tijuana, which will present an opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Mexico. We are seeking $2,000 to cover the entire cost of the day trip including transportation, tour guides, and meals.

Who we are:

The Center for Latin American Studies at San Diego State University has been providing educational opportunities since 1942 and is renowned for program offerings in the indigenous languages of Mexico.

What we do:

SDSU offers over 350 education abroad programs in more than 50 countries. Each year, students from numerous academic majors and minors study abroad to gain valuable international experience.

Many students are unable to participate in a semester-long program but desire alternatives that result in personal and professional growth. For this reason, the Center for Latin American Studies offers a one-day experience in Tijuana, where students have the opportunity to visit various iconic pastimes that are typically reserved for locals.

This day trip is a part of the Center's initiative to demystify Tijuana and throughout the day, students explore numerous cultural hotspots which may include museums, markets, parks, art fairs, gastronomic gems, architectural points of interest ... the options are endless.

Why we need your help:

We need your support to provide this opportunity to all students who desire a day of cultural immersion. We are seeking $2,000 to cover the entire cost of the trip including transportation, tour guides, and meals.

Your generous gift will allow all interested SDSU students to experience this amazing culture located less than 25 miles from campus.
