Meet Your Friends Before Tip-off

Starting with the Aztec women’s basketball contest against USD on November 17, the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center will be open two hours before most games.  Aztec fans may stop in and tour the facility while enjoying a warm beverage provided by the SDSU Alumni Association.

“We want everyone to get into the habit of stopping by, meeting friends and enjoying the pre-game atmosphere before heading over to Viejas Arena,” says Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center Facilities Manager Mike Sweet. “This place is the campus home to Aztec alumni and we want them to feel comfortable, welcome and know what’s available to them here.”

Sweet says the new facility will remain open after business hours on weeknights when games start between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.  On Saturdays or other selected days when the campus may be closed, the alumni center will open specifically to accommodate fans an hour and a half prior to tip-off.  Doors will be locked at game time.


SDSU Alumni Association staff will be on hand during hours when the facility is open.  Sweet emphasizes that the schedule remains tentative depending on the interest demonstrated by Aztec fans.

“We don’t know quite what to expect yet since we’ve never had an alumni center right across the street from the arena,” he says, “but we’re going to remain flexible and adjust our plans accordingly.”

Currently, the schedule calls for the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center to be open the following dates before these tip-off times:

19th – Thursday, 7:00 p.m. Aztec men vs. Santa Clara
21st – Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Aztec women vs. Arizona

December

8th – Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. Aztec women vs. Pepperdine
9th – Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. Aztec men vs. Fullerton
11th – Friday, 7:00 p.m. Aztec women vs. Long Beach State
12th – Saturday, 7:00 p.m. Aztec men vs. Arizona (Alumni Assoc./AAF members event)

January
