Fisher, Franklin Honored by USBWA
San Diego State men's basketball head coach Steve Fisher and sophomore guard Jamaal Franklin were honored by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Tuesday morning. Fisher was named District IX Coach of the Year for the second straight season, while Franklin landed on the all-District IX squad.
Franklin, Fisher Headline All-MW Honorees
San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin and Steve Fisher headline the list of all-Mountain West honorees, the league announced Monday night. Franklin is the 2012 conference player of the year, while Fisher was named MW coach of the year for the second straight season.
Women's Hoops' Clements Named MW Player of the Year
The San Diego State women's basketball team picked up three of the Mountain West's top awards Monday, as junior Courtney Clements was named player of the year, Beth Burns was tabbed coach of the year and junior Chelsea Hopkins earned the newcomer-of-the-year award.
