I am proud to announce that San Diego State’s Samahan Filipino alumni now have a chapter to call their own. By unanimous vote at its February 23 meeting, the SDSU Alumni Association Board of Directors approved official recognition of the new Andres Bonifacio Samahan Filipino American Alumni Chapter.
Celebrate our "Bayanihan" spirit by becoming a member of the Andres Bonifacio Samahan Filipino American Alumni Chapter. Filipinos make up one of the largest ethnic groups in San Diego County and at SDSU. Because of you, we have a long history of student involvement, activism and civic engagement in the community. We value your experience as alumni and appreciate the important role you can play as a chapter member, in developing leadership and contributing to the betterment of the community. Chapter President
Chapter Purpose:
- To further the interests of the Filipino and Filipino American cultural/heritage group, and its alumni;
- To establish and maintain a productive relationship between the University, its alumni, AB Samahan and the community;
- To promote activities beneficial to alumni, the University, and AB Samahan;
- To assist in the recruitment, retention, and graduation of Filipino American students;
- To publicize and promote the chapter, the University and AB Samahan interests.
