Preparations Underway for Commencement 2010.

All across campus preparations are underway for Commencement 2010. For the first time this year, many graduating students and their families will celebrate at the new Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center.

Workers spent the morning hanging a giant “Home of Aztecs for Life” banner across the front of the building. It will welcome the almost 200 graduating students who have joined the SDSU Alumni Association as lifetime members. They will receive special admission to planned celebrations on the alumni center grounds throughout the weekend.
 
“It’s so great to be able to honor our newest Aztecs for Life and their families at this beautiful alumni center,” says SDSU Alumni Association Associate Director Tammy Blackburn. “This is the first time we’ve been able to host a commencement celebration and we think it’s really going to be a lot of fun.”

New Aztecs for Life and their families will be provided complimentary graduation photos with the Alumni Aztec statue in the alumni center rotunda. They will also be offered commemorative commencement gifts along with snacks and beverages.
 

Graduating students at SDSU Imperial Valley Campus at May 19 commencement rehearsal.

San Diego State observes Commencement 2010 over four days, May 20 – 23. The 10,492 candidates for degrees represent the largest number of graduates in a decade.
 
Graduating students at SDSU’s Imperial Valley Campus rehearsed their ceremony on Wednesday. Tonight the Imperial Valley Campus will kick off commencement weekend with the first of many SDSU ceremonies. SDSUIVC will celebrate 255 undergraduates (bachelor’s degrees), 35 graduates (master’s degrees) and 54 teaching credentials.
