Aztec Poinsettia Bowl Merchandise Now Available

It’s here! On the morning of November 30 a truckload of Aztec Poinsettia Bowl gear arrived at the campus bookstore where staff members immediately began unpacking it in the store’s receiving area.

Boxes of T-shirts and sweatshirts bearing the SDSU and Poinsettia Bowl logos were tagged, folded and prepared for display. Organizing it all was Ambre Dorsett, the bookstore’s apparel buyer.

“We were ready ahead of time,” she said, explaining how the bowl gear arrived just days after the Aztec football team accepted an invitation to play in its third consecutive bowl game. “Early on, we started looking at different graphics and picked some things, so as soon as we got invited, they started making it."

All of the bowl gear is now available on line or at the campus bookstore. It includes a variety of T-shirts, sweatshirts and even a commemorative key chain.

There is even a deal for memorabilia collectors. Anyone buying a 2012 Poinsettia Bowl T-shirt or sweatshirt may also purchase a commemorative T-shirt from the previous two bowls the Aztecs appeared in for five dollars. Sweatshirts from 2010 and 2011 go for ten dollars.

Dorsett said the bookstore staff is also prepared for a positive outcome for the Aztecs in the December 20 game against the BYU Cougars.

"Once we win the Poinsettia Bowl,” she said, “we will have championship T-shirts available."
