When the new Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center opens this fall, it’s rotunda will contain two pavers sponsored by Professor Emerita Darlene Gould Davies (’62, ’65).  They will serve as a tribute to a special relationship.

Pregame Event Unites Aztecs at Baseball Regional
Aztec baseball’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 18 years drew SDSU fans from throughout Southern California to Irvine May 29 for the opening game of the regional at UCI.  But hours before Aztec ace Stephen Strasburg threw his first pitch against the Virginia Cavaliers at Anteater Stadium, more than 50 San Diego State alumni and fans gathered at the nearby Steelhead Brewing Company.

Tailgate Planned Prior to Game at Rose Bowl
Buses will roll from San Diego carrying Aztec fans to SDSU’s September 5 game with UCLA at the Rose Bowl.  A pre-game tailgate party is also planned at the nearby Brookside Golf Club.

New Alumni Chapters are Approved

Football Legacy Chapter

Latest Additions Include Aztec Football Legacy, EMBA
Aztec football players now have an alumni chapter to call their own.  Last month, the Aztec Football Legacy Chapter was one of two new alumni chapters formally approved by the Alumni Association’s board of directors.  The other is the new Executive MBA (EMBA) Chapter.

Eight alumni who are blazing trails in the world of business, community service, service to SDSU, or a combination of the three will be honored at the College of Business Administration’s 2009 Lamden Rising Star awards event set for Tuesday, June 16.  A group of eight alumni will be honored.
