SDSU Alumni Scholarship Program

Since 1996, over 1,000 SDSU alumni have contributed to the SDSU Alumni scholarship program. Thanks to these generous Aztecs, scores of deserving students have been able to pursue their dreams of higher education. We encourage you to support the SDSU Alumni Scholarship program so we may continue offering important financial opportunities to students.

We offer three annual scholarships:

SDSU Alumni Legacy Scholarship
Open to all class levels. Parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or legal guardian must be an alumna/alumnus of SDSU and a lifetime member of the Alumni Association or a current donor (of any amount) to SDSU.

SDSU Alumni Scholarship for any SDSU student
Open to all class levels. Student must have financial need, as determined by SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

SDSU Alumni Scholarship for a first-year SDSU student
Open to all class levels. Student must be in their first year at SDSU and have financial need, as determined by SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Three additional scholarships may also be awarded:

Frederick W. Pierce, IV Volunteer Scholarship
Named in honor of Fred Pierce, SDSU Alumni past president. Open to undergraduate students who demonstrate a commitment to and interest in volunteerism at SDSU, especially with alumni-centric student organizations (e.g. Sport Clubs, SDSU Ambassadors, Associated Students and Aztec Pride).

Ash Hayes Volunteer Scholarship
Named in honor of Ash Hayes, SDSU Alumni past president and exceptional volunteer. Open to undergraduate students who demonstrate a commitment to and interest in volunteerism with alumni-centric student organizations (e.g. Sport Clubs, SDSU Ambassadors, Associated Students and Aztec Pride). Preference will be given to students who are military-affiliated and/or Kinesiology majors.

Carl D. Folsom Memorial Alumni Scholarship
Named in honor of Carl D. Folsom, proud alumnus and Alumni Association lifetime member. Open to undergraduate students who demonstrate service and commitment to alumni-centric student organizations (e.g. SDSU Ambassadors, Associated Students and Aztec Pride). Preference will be given to students who are related to an SDSU alumnus.
